Nellie Myatt Memorial Award

Nellie Myatt Memorial Award

Each year, as part of the Blasting for Boobies Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, we recognize one person whose impact reaches far beyond the field from the previous years campaign.

The Nellie Myatt Memorial Award was created in honor of Nellie Myatt and the strength, determination, and spirit she carried throughout her life. Although Nellie lost her battle with breast cancer, her story and the impact she made continue through the people who knew her and the community that carries her memory forward.

Each year, this award is presented to one person who has made a meaningful and lasting impact on Blasting for Boobies. It isn't about how many birds were harvested or how many days were spent in the field. It's about the people who help grow this campaign, bring others into the outdoors, support those affected by breast cancer, and help make sure the message continues to reach new people.

A Little Bit About Nellie

"Nellie Myatt had an incredible zest for life and a determination to keep learning, growing, and trying new things—even while courageously battling cancer. One of those new adventures was hunting. Nellie was drawn to hunting because she wanted to learn where her food came from, provide healthy, organic meat, spend time outdoors, and meet new people who shared an appreciation for the outdoors. For her, learning to hunt wasn’t simply about harvesting an animal. It was about challenging herself, building new skills, creating friendships, and experiencing something she had always been curious about. That spirit was simply who Nellie was. She played hockey, did CrossFit, earned a degree in biotechnology, learned to sew beautiful costumes and gowns, and never stopped finding new things to experience. When something interested her, she wasn’t afraid to step outside her comfort zone and learn. Nellie passed away on August 26, 2025, after courageously battling cancer for many years, but the example she left behind continues to inspire others: be brave enough to try something new, strong enough to keep fighting, and open enough to welcome the people you meet along the way. The Nellie Myatt Memorial Award honors that spirit by recognizing someone whose impact on the Blasting for Boobies campaign goes beyond the field—someone who strengthens the community, lifts others up, and leaves a lasting difference in the fight against breast cancer. Because Nellie’s legacy reminds us that sometimes the greatest impact isn’t measured by what we accomplish for ourselves, but by the courage, friendship, and opportunity we create for those who come after us. Keep learning. Keep fighting. Keep living."

The 2026 Nellie Myatt Memorial Award

This year, we're proud to present the Nellie Myatt Memorial Award to someone who played an incredible role in the very first Blasting for Boobies campaign in 2025—and who did it in honor of her dear friend, Nellie.

From the beginning, she helped spread the word and get people behind what Blasting for Boobies was trying to accomplish including crushing her 500 bird goal.

Her impact didn't stop with the campaign, either. She continues to mentor women in the outdoors, helping others learn, gain confidence, and find their own place in the outdoor community.

When we looked back at the first year of Blasting for Boobies, there was no question that her impact stood out. What she did for the campaign in 2025 helped us reach more people and build the community that we're continuing to grow today.

That's exactly what this award is meant to recognize.

We're proud to name Rachel Voss the 2026 recipient of the Nellie Myatt Memorial Award, and we're looking forward to seeing the impact she continues to make—not only on Blasting for Boobies, but on the women and outdoorsmen and women she encourages along the way.

Keep learning. Keep fighting. Keep living.
